Clubs and Organizations Orientation 101

Program Planning

Student Development Center- The Student Development Center provides a variety of programs to enhance student organizations through personal consultations, orientations and workshops. Organizations may download an Activity Request Form and Event Planning and Resource Form to assist with programming needs. Student Organizations are required once a year in the fall to register their organization. The Club and Organization Registration packet is available to all new and renewing student organizations.

Campus Activities Board-
CAB is responsible for programming a wide variety of social and educational events.  CAB's goal is to provide fun filled, free activities for the enjoyment of UTEP students. It is comprised of five committees; Clubs and Organizations, Community Relations, Health Awareness, Special Events, and Diversity.

Union Services- Offers free of charge; room rentals, room set up, access to audio visual equipment to
registered student organizations. Please make reservations with an approved Activity Request Form no later than two weeks prior to event.  Visit the Union website to view meeting rooms, layouts, audio/visual needs and more for your next on-campus event.

Don Haskins Center- Students organizations can utilize resources at the Don Haskins Center for large-scale events. Podiums, booths, communication radios, sound systems and stages are made available by The Don Haskins Center.  Use the Don Haskins Center / Special Facilities Management Guideline to help you plan your next event.

Facilities Services- Provides additional items and services
for large scale or outdoor events including: labor crews, tables, chairs, stages, trash cans, scheduling sprinkler systems, custodial services, and electrical support personnel.  The Facilities Electronic Work Request will show you how to make submit a request online.

Sodexo Catering- Offers reduced-priced catering services and a Catering Menu designed specifically for student organizations. Organizations must notify and receive approval from Sodexo before sponsoring an event where food and beverages will be provided, including any food fundraiser such as bake sales, etc.

Financial Management

Student Government Association- SGA promotes student involvement and sponsors numerous campus events. Through SGA, Clubs and Organizations can acquire financial support in the form of Bills.
